Next weekend it is time for the 87th edition of the TT Assen motorcycle race at the Circuit of Drenthe.
During this weekend all Grand Prix classes (Moto3, Moto2, MotoGP) will put their best foot forward.
Before the TT Assen race starts on Sunday, competitors such as Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo and Marc Marquez can fight for the best starting positions through training days and qualifying races. These training sessions and qualifying rounds can be seen on Friday and Saturday. In addition to the Moto2, Moto3 and MotoGP races, the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup race and the Dutch Supersport 300 race will also be held on Saturday.
In the Dutch Supersport 300 training and qualification rounds Joey Litjens will participate. For people who have been following the TT Assen for a long time, this will be a familiar name. Litjens crashed in 2009 during a race. The severe nerve damage to his right arm that he sustained as a result meant that his career was over, according to the doctors. After years of intensive rehabilitation, he is lucky to have regained the functions in his right arm. This go-getter is really worth watching!
In addition, we are of course looking forward to Valentino Rossi who might go for his 10th TT Assen victory this year! In 1997 he won his first race on Dutch soil with the 125cc race. Where he rode an Aprilia for the first few years, he first exchanged this brand for Honda and later for Yamaha.
Rossi is currently fifth in the MotoGP standings. Last weekend he rode in the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya where he came in eighth. 'The Doctor' Rossi was disappointed with this result which he attributes to his bike. Since the beginning of this season he has had problems with his current model of bike. Fortunately Yamaha introduced a new chassis last Monday after the MotoGP of Catalunya which Rossi says suits him better. Hopefully this will pay off in a better race at the TT Assen!
Do you also hope that Valentino Rossi will achieve a great result at the TT Assen, then show it by wearing a yellow shirt. Valentino Rossi's fans are also called the Yellow Team and at every MotoGP race you see an abundance of yellow clothing and yellow smoke flares. A yellow t-shirt is of course an easy choice, but think outside the box and choose for example a fluorescent yellow party overall ! If you really want to stand out, then you can also go for this yellow second skin outfit . For the female fans there is for example a fluorescent yellow legging , in other words something for everyone!
