Thursday is the day again, Zwarte Cross 2017 begins! This twenty-first edition will be bigger than ever. Zwarte Cross started in 1997 as a small festival with 1000 visitors, but that is now a thing of the past. Nowadays it is the largest paid music festival in the Netherlands. Last year the festival was sold out for the first time and that shows how popular Zwarte Cross is in our country.
The past few weeks we have been blessed with beautiful weather and festival goers have been very lucky. The more than 220,000 people who will visit Zwarte Cross 2017 in the coming days will have it a little less. Thursday is a good day with little wind and sometimes a bit of sunshine. Friday and Saturday you will stroll around the festival grounds with a beautiful party poncho and sunglasses. Sun and rain showers alternate.
The best weather has been forecast for Sunday so far, with temperatures of up to 25 degrees and sunshine alternating with some cumulus clouds.
Since it will rain heavily, but the sun will also shine, we recommend that you bring the following items;
- a beautiful poncho
- sunscreen
- sunglasses
- rain boots or old shoes
There is something for everyone to experience at Zwarte Cross. With a Tyrolean tent, rock 'n roll circus, disco tent, gay café, metal café, gospel church reggae meadow and more, Zwarte Cross appeals to a very diverse audience. Well-known names performing this year are BZB, Golden Earring, Guus Meeuwis, Kenny B, Racoon, Rico & Sticks, Rowwen Hèze, and Wolfmother. In addition to the 200 bands, the festival is of course also the place to watch theatre performances and, not to forget, motocross riders.
