Rules and Tips for Oktoberfest 2017

Every year in September, more than five million people visit the world-famous Oktoberfest in Munich. This folk festival brings together people from all over the world who, while enjoying food and drinks, experience one or more days of this spectacle.

At this beautiful festival, which we recommend to everyone, it is important to stick to a few rules. This is not only practical but also useful, which prevents confusion.

The rules for Oktoberfest 2017:

1. Large bags are prohibited. The maximum dimensions of a bag are 20cm x 15cm x 10cm or the bag does not fit more than 3L.
2. Illegal objects are of course not allowed. In addition, objects with which you can stab, hit or cut someone are not allowed. Glass bottles are prohibited.
3. Animals are not allowed on the Theresienwiede, or the entire Oktoberfest grounds.
4. Bringing your own food and drinks onto the premises is not permitted.

Tips:

1. Access to the Oktoberfest festival grounds, access to the tents is free. However, without a reservation you will not easily find a spot at busy times.
2. Bring cash. Usually only cash is accepted in the tents, with a beer price of ten euros per liter that goes quickly.
3. Book your Oktoberfest 2017 trip as soon as possible. With over five million people attending the festival, it is impossible to find a place to stay on the day itself.
4. Every tent at Oktoberfest is different. Try out a few tents on the first day to find out which one suits your group best.
5. Oktoberfest doesn't just serve beer. With a group of friends who don't like beer? Check out which tents also serve wine and cider!
6. Check the Wiesnbarometer to find out which day is quiet and which is busy. This will prevent surprises.

Don't forget to buy a nice dirndl and lederhosen so that you can also be part of the Oktoberfest 2017 in your own Oktoberfest clothing !
